Wintrobe Tube – Scientific Equipment

It is a common Wintrobe tube,  to perform the test, anti-coagulated blood was traditionally placed in an upright tube, known as a Wintrobe tube, and the rate at which the red blood cells fall was measured and reported in mm/h.

• These tubes can be centrifuged.
• The quantity of fluoride-oxalate solution per tube is very critical.
• Little less quantity will result in clotting of blood sample and little high quantity will result in clumping of blood cells.
