Cobalt steel magnetic needle strongly magnetized rolls on knife edge. The vertical scale is graduated in degrees, divided up in four equal quadrants, each reading from 0 to 90-C. The lower graduated circle is divided into 360 C and is read vernier to 0.01 degree

An accurately balanced needle, strongly magnetized is fitted with hardened steel pivot marking in jewels cup bearings. the needle can be easily removed for reversal. The inclination scale is of chrome brass graduated in degrees 0-90 four times. The case is made of non magnetic alloy, duco painted base, has easily removable plate glass window and rotates on a heavy brass base, is rotation being measured by a brass chrome dial reading 0-360º. Fitted with leveling screw and spirit level.
